Nasa-Jaye Capsizes

On your marks, get set, go!
Day two of kayaking in the pool. Basically, everyone brought their togs today. I wonder why? Lots of great photos which the students will be sharing in different ways on their blogs.

Our highlight was this little video of Nasa-Jaye capsizing. Cameron has been asking how to adjust speeds on videos, so we had a little play with this one. A big thank you for Nasa-Jaye for being such a good sport!

Update: check out Maia's awesomely entertaining kayaking video!

Kayaking Fun

Give Jack a double tick for enjoyment!
Our swimming lessons returned today, or did they? Not quite, but something happened that seemed to get the students of Room 6 very excited. Using Miss Paki's generous gift which are our new school kayaks, we practised a different type of water safety in the pool. Those of us without togs became our assessors and coaches and we had a seriously enjoyable learning time. I am sure others will remember their togs again now!

This is what our buddy assessors looked for:

  • Paddle Hold (right angles, right way, consistency)
  • Balance
  • Overall Safety
  • Speed
  • Enjoyment
Can you see the criteria displayed in this video?
